Create Folder

To create a folder, click the New > New Folder option in the top menu of DM Explorer. Alternatively, you can right-click the folder or repository and select New Folder from the context menu.

  • In the Name field, enter an appropriate name for the folder. It is recommended that the folder name be unique. This field is mandatory.
  • In the Description field, enter a brief description of the folder’s purpose or content. This can be used to indicate what the folder is about and is optional.
  • If you will be accessing the folder in different interface languages, click the localization button next to the fields to enter translations for other languages.

Once the data is entered, click OK to complete the folder creation process. To cancel the process, click the Cancel button.

After the folder is created, you can perform the following configurations specific to the folder.

Folder Properties and Management:

  • Tags: Tags can be added to the folder, making it easier to categorize the files added to it.
  • Restrictions: You can specify which file types can be added to the folder and set a maximum file size limit.
  • Indexing Options: Choose an indexing processor for the files in the folder (e.g., ApacheTika, AzureCognitiveComputerVisionOCR).

Metadata (Profile Form):

  • Folder creation can only be performed by users with the necessary permissions.

Changes Made:

  • Updated the section related to Metadata Form with proper references.
  • Added Folder Permissions and linked them to the DocumentManagement.Permissions.
  • Enhanced the flow and organization to make the folder creation process clear and aligned with other sections.
